PRO-NOX™ is an inhaled nitrous oxide and oxygen mixture; it’s a 50/50 mixture and it is used to alleviate discomfort, to alleviate anxiety regarding procedures. It’s very helpful for adults who just don’t really like having procedures done. It is ideal for all of our services to diminish or eliminate pain.
Most of the services and procedures that we offer aren’t painful, which is great. But there are some procedures we know that just are uncomfortable. In those cases, we would recommend PRO-NOX™ as an option.
Manage your own pain and anxiety with PRO-NOX
PRO-NOX™ is completely self-administered, giving patients the control to manage their own pain and anxiety. PRO-NOX™ is patient-controlled Inhaled Analgesia for in-office use and takes effect in seconds, offering immediate relief of pain and anxiety.
Patients take a breath from the inhalation tube. They can take more breaths if they’re feeling a little more discomfort or anxiety, and then when they’re feeling relaxed then they kind of take a break and stop taking it.
PRO-NOX™ is a safe and effective alternative to taking narcotics or opioids to manage pain and discomfort.
The effects of PRO-NOX™ wear off after about 10 minutes, making it safe for patients to drive themselves to and from their procedures.
By mixing the Nitrous Oxide with Oxygen, PRO-NOX™ reduces the risks associated with traditional “laughing gas”.
PRO-NOX Side-Effects
Minimal side-effects of PRO-NOX™ include:
- temporary nausea or upset stomach
- the feeling of floating or weightlessness
